Pan-fried cheese sandwiches are an American classic. Using this classic recipe as a base, you can confidently experiment with different types of bread and cheese. These sandwiches are often served with, for example, tomato soups and other soups. For added convenience, it's best to butter the bread slices first, then flip them over and arrange the cheese on top.
