The main ingredient in these sandwiches is seitan, a wheat protein (gluten) product. It's prepared in such a way that you'll forget it's just a meat substitute! Slices of seitan are coated in a cola-based batter and fried in oil, creating a delicious crust and an incredibly rich flavor with a hint of sweetness. Fried seitan pairs perfectly with tomato sauce and mozzarella. Even meat-eaters will love these vegetarian sandwiches.
