Texas BBQ Sauce - A Detailed Recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1.5 cups beef broth or any meat broth
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp rendered bacon fat or butter
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine beef broth, ketchup, onion, rendered fat, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon pepper in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, until the onion is soft.
  2. Remove the pan from the stove and let the sauce sit for 1 hour. Serve the sauce hot, reheating it before serving.
