Steamed asparagus retains its juiciness and most of its vitamins and minerals. Boil it until it's slightly crisp, and serve drizzled with olive oil, sprinkled with salt and black pepper, and garnished with lemon wedges. A simple and delicious side dish for any meal.
We recommend
Recipe:
- 450 g medium asparagus, stems trimmed and peeled
- 1-2 tbsp. l. olive oil
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Fill a large saucepan with about 1 inch of water and set a steamer basket inside. Bring the water to a boil, add the asparagus, cover, and steam until crisp-tender, about 4-5 minutes. Transfer the asparagus to a warmed serving platter, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with a lemon wedge and serve immediately. Instead of olive oil, you can drizzle the asparagus with a tablespoon of butter, grated zest of a small lemon, and 1 teaspoon of chopped parsley.
