You can even cook perfect rice in a microwave oven, which will be just as delicious, aromatic, and fluffy as if it came straight from a rice cooker. Cook the rice in a large, uncovered microwave-safe bowl with butter or vegetable oil. You can cook it in water or broth if desired. Remember to adjust the microwave power according to the recipe's instructions to ensure even cooking. Do not stir the rice during the entire cooking time. Fluff the cooked rice and serve.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • 3.5 cups of water or broth
  • 1.5 tsp butter or vegetable oil

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Place all ingredients in a large glass bowl or any microwave-safe bowl.

    Note: Rice expands during cooking, so be sure to choose a large container.
  2. Microwave the rice on high power, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Then cook on medium power, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Do not stir the rice during cooking. Season with salt to taste and fluff with a fork just before serving.
