With this recipe, you'll learn how to make a delicious and juicy basic meatloaf with minimal ingredients. It's made with just ground beef, onions and bell peppers for juiciness, eggs, tomatoes, and oats. The only spices are black pepper and a topping of ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar, which will give your meatloaf a wonderful crust when baked. The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Meat loaf

  • 450 g of ground beef
  • 1 and 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 0.5 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 220 g canned chopped tomatoes in their own juice
  • 0.5 cup quick-cooking oatmeal

Glaze

  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. prepared mustard

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
