Italian pasta "Puttanesca" is macaroni in an incredibly delicious and aromatic sauce made from mashed tomatoes, olives, capers, garlic, and dried herbs. It's prepared quickly using canned and shelf-stable ingredients, which is why it became popular in Italian brothels in the mid-20th century. Hence the dish's piquant name. This pasta cooks in just half an hour and is a perfect choice when you want to savor the flavors of a distinctive Mediterranean dish. Serve as a side dish with meat or chicken, or as a standalone vegetarian dish.
