Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Heat the butter in a small saucepan over high heat. Add the shallots and sauté for 5 minutes, until softened.
- Divide the minced meat into 4 portions. Flatten each portion, chop lightly with a knife, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and 0.5 teaspoon of prepared shallots. Mix everything into a piece of minced meat and form into a patty 11–13 cm in diameter and 0.5–1 cm thick. This should make 4 patties.
- Toast halved hamburger buns and hand them out to your guests. Encourage them to spread any sauces they'd like while you prepare the meat.
Lightly sprinkle the bottom of a large, hot skillet with salt. Place two patties on the hot, but not smoking, surface. Cook for 20 seconds, then flip. Cook until cooked through, about 1 minute. - Transfer the cooked patties to a warm plate and fry the remaining two in the same manner. Place the patties on your guests' buns as quickly as possible so they can finish the burgers.
