Salsa is a traditional Mexican sauce made from boiled tomatoes or tomatillos and chili with the addition of onions, garlic, peppers and coriander and served as a condiment for dishes or tortillas.

This recipe uses grilled pineapple, ginger, and a fiery habanero pepper instead of tomatoes. The pineapple, habanero, and ginger work together beautifully, giving this sauce a stunning new flavor.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 small red onion, finely diced
  • 1 pineapple, sliced ​​and grilled or fried until soft, then diced
  • 1/2 or 1 habanero chili pepper, finely chopped
  • A little canola oil
  • Corn tortilla chips or banana chips, for serving
