Make a promising side dish by stuffing simple mashed potatoes with plenty of cheese. It's delicious and quick. Wash small potatoes thoroughly and boil them without peeling them. Then mash them with a masher, adding sour cream and grated cheddar. Sprinkle with fresh green onions and serve hot to enjoy the gooey cheese and rich, creamy flavor. Teens can also get started with cooking with this recipe. Although boiling potatoes may seem complicated, with your guidance, your child will soon master all the dishes they can make anytime.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 0.9-1 kg of young potatoes in their skins from your garden
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups grated cheddar
  • 3 tbsp chopped chives from the garden

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Cut the potatoes in half and place them in a saucepan. Cover with water and bring to a boil. While you wait for the water to boil, prepare other dishes.
  2. When the water comes to a boil, add 2 large pinches of salt and cook for 10 minutes or until tender. Drain, leaving the potatoes in the hot pan. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher and stir in the sour cream and cheddar. When the cheese has melted into the potatoes, add the chives, salt, and pepper, and mash again. Taste the potatoes and add more salt if needed.
