This casserole is made with sliced ​​frozen potato fries (found in the prepared foods section). Combine them with pan-fried jalapeños, poblano peppers, and onions, sprinkle with plenty of grated cheese and crumbled crispy bacon, and bake until the cheese is melted. For a multifaceted and unique flavor, use two types of cheese: sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack. This casserole is perfect for both a delicious hearty breakfast and a family dinner.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1.8 kg frozen diced potatoes for frying
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large green chili peppers, diced
  • 2 jalapeños, finely diced
  • 1 poblano pod, diced
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 2 cups grated sharp cheddar
  • 2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • 8 slices bacon, fried and chopped

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet and sauté the chili peppers and onion until golden brown and almost blackened. Add the frozen potatoes, a little salt and black pepper, and stir.

  3. Transfer to a greased baking dish and sprinkle with cheese and bacon. Bake until the potatoes are heated through and the cheese is bubbly, about 30 minutes.
