This quick and juicy green pea side dish is perfect for any meat dish. It's ready in minutes and can be served for both holidays and everyday meals. Frozen peas are sautéed in olive oil with shallots, garlic, and Italian prosciutto. The prosciutto adds a delicious, aromatic flavor that's irresistible. Top with fresh, fragrant Italian parsley and serve.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 3 shallots, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 bag (450 g) frozen green peas, thawed
  • 110 g prosciutto (0.3 cm thick slices), cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley leaves

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Heat olive oil in a large heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-low heat. Add the shallot, garlic, salt, and black pepper and cook until softened, about 1 minute.
  2. Add the green peas and cook for about 5 minutes. Add the prosciutto and cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir in the parsley and remove from the heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
