Making this couscous side dish is as easy as boiling water! It's easy to prepare and requires no cooking: just pour boiling water over it and let it sit for a few minutes until the couscous steams and becomes fluffy and soft. In this recipe, the couscous is paired with sweet green peas, pieces of salted prosciutto, and fresh parsley. Serve with lemon wedges for a squeeze.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 pack (200 rubles) of couscous
  • 0.5 cup frozen green peas, defrosted
  • 60 g thin slices of prosciutto (6-7 pcs.), cut into thin strips
  • 1/3 cup coarsely chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp finely grated lemon zest + lemon wedges for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Bring 1.5 cups of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add the couscous and green peas, stir once, cover, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Transfer the cooked couscous and peas to a serving bowl and fluff with a fork. Set aside to cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes. Add the prosciutto, parsley, olive oil, lemon zest, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper; toss well. Serve with lemon wedges.
