It takes just a few minutes to prepare, and the dish is filled with exquisite flavors. Vareniki are steamed or boiled in water, then warmed up with frozen green peas in an Italian sauce made with heavy cream and grated Parmesan. This transforms this ready-to-eat dish into a delicious dish, perfect even for special occasions.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 450 g frozen dumplings with shrimp or other seafood (16 - 20 pcs.)
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup frozen green peas
  • 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese + extra for sprinkling
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Cook the dumplings in a steamer or microwave according to the package directions.
  2. In a large skillet, bring the cream to a simmer over high heat. Add the pierogi and cook until the cream thickens slightly, 2-3 minutes. Add the peas and cook until heated through, about 1 minute. Remove the skillet from the heat, stir in the Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste. The sauce may seem thin, but it will thicken as it cools.

  3. Divide the dumplings and sauce among plates. Sprinkle with green onions and Parmesan.
