Sweet and tart grapefruit, strong bourbon, and fiery ginger imbue this cocktail with a crisp flavor, while grapefruit beer and grapefruit soda give the fizz its signature effervescence. The cocktail is served over plenty of ice, and each serving is garnished with candied ginger.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 cup red grapefruit juice
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 2 bottles (0.33 l) of grapefruit beer
  • One bottle (0.33 l) of sparkling water
  • 3/4 cup bourbon

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Pour 1 cup of red grapefruit juice into a pitcher. Wrap 2 tablespoons of grated fresh ginger in a piece of cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel and squeeze the juice into the pitcher.
  2. Combine two 0.33L bottles of grapefruit beer, one 0.33L bottle of grapefruit soda, and 3/4 cup of bourbon. Pour the cocktail into four glasses filled with ice. Garnish with candied ginger.
