In Egypt, every family has its own version of Om Ali. Some make it with filo dough, others with croissants or simply stale bread. You can use any nuts, including roasted peanuts. In fact, this recipe can easily be adapted to whatever your pantry may contain. Essentially, the Egyptian dessert Om Ali is nothing more than a bread pudding soaked in milk or cream and garnished with nuts and raisins. It's heavenly delicious, though!
