These Ree Drummond cakes are incredibly easy to make and perfect for baking with kids. Bake the cake on a baking sheet and, while it's hot, sprinkle with chocolate chips to melt them. Decorate with any toppings you like (M&Ms, mini marshmallows, nuts, etc.)—the brighter the merrier!



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 220 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups premium flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 170-220 g semi-sweet chocolate granules
  • Various toppingsIngredients: granola, chopped nuts, colorful sprinkles, mini marshmallows, crushed graham crackers, crushed candies, caramel sauce

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 175°C.
  2. Combine the butter and brown sugar in a large bowl. Add the egg and mix well. Add the flour, vanilla extract, and salt and mix well. Spread the dough on a baking sheet in a 0.5-1 cm thick layer.

  3. Bake until lightly browned, 15-18 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the cake. Return to the oven for 1 minute. Remove and spread the melted chocolate over the top. Sprinkle with your favorite toppings and let the cake cool. Cut into squares.
