This cocktail by Giada de Laurentiis will amaze your guests with just its appearance. Just before serving, she ignites the rum in a floating lemon peel in the glass, creating a stunning display, like a top-notch bartender.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 30 ml bitter orange liqueur, such as Aperol
  • 30 ml white rum
  • 15 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice from half a lemon, do not discard the rind
  • 20 ml simple sugar syrup
  • 7–15 ml rum (75.5%)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine orange liqueur, white rum, lemon juice, and syrup in a shaker filled with ice. Shake for 30 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass or a large coupe.
  2. Place the lemon peel in a glass and fill with 75.5% ABV rum. Using a long match, carefully light the rum on fire. To extinguish the flame, dip the lemon into the cocktail with a spoon.
