Recipe:

Making hot dog sausages

Cook the sausages on a hot, oiled grill, turning occasionally, until browned, about 5 minutes. Alternatively, poach them in boiling water or beer for 4-6 minutes.

Making Chili Sauce

Combine 1 pound (450 grams) ground beef, 1/2 cup (0.5 grams) grated onion, 1 cup (1 cup) tomato sauce, and 6 ounces (170 grams) tomato paste in a large saucepan. Add 1 tablespoon (1 tablespoon) chili powder and sugar, 1/2 teaspoon (0.75 teaspoon) salt, 1/2 teaspoon (0.5 teaspoon) pepper and garlic salt, and 1 cup (1 cup) water. Stir in 1 bay leaf, then cover and simmer gently over medium heat until thickened, about 2 hours. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon (0.5 teaspoon) white wine vinegar and simmer for another 30 minutes. Discard the bay leaf.
