To give poached asparagus a more sophisticated look and flavor, arrange it on a platter and top with a mixture of butter-fried panko breadcrumbs, thyme, chives, pecorino cheese, and Meyer lemon zest. Unlike regular lemons, Meyer lemons have a more pleasant, slightly sweet flavor and aroma. The airy, crisp panko breadcrumbs add a lovely texture to the asparagus. This garnish looks quite festive and goes well with any meat or fish dish.

- 1 kg asparagus
- 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 3 tbsp. l. grated pecorino cheese

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- In a frying pan, heat 2 tbsp (30 g) butter over medium heat. Add 0.5 tbsp. panko breadcrumbs and 1 teaspoon chopped thyme and cook, stirring, until the breadcrumbs are golden brown, 3 to 6 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in 3 tablespoons grated Pecorino cheese, 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives and 2 teaspoons lemon zest; season with salt and pepper.
- Cook 1 kg (2.3 lb) trimmed asparagus in salted boiling water until crisp-tender, 2-4 minutes. Drain and toss the asparagus with 2 tablespoons (30 g) butter and a pinch of salt and pepper. Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle with the breadcrumb mixture.
