Chicken divan is a popular American casserole dish whose main ingredients are chicken and broccoli. These two ingredients are poured into a thick, cheesy sauce in a casserole dish and baked in the oven. The dish's amusing name comes from the restaurant "Divan Parisien," where it's believed to have been invented and from which it gained fame throughout America. Housewives adore this dish because it's incredibly easy to prepare, delicious, cheesy, and loaded with healthy vegetables. Before baking, the divan is sprinkled with Parmesan breadcrumbs, which create a crispy crust. For variety, you can sprinkle it with other cheeses, such as cheddar or Gruyere.
