A festive dinner becomes special thanks to thoughtful details. How about serving a unique, refreshing cucumber-mint water? Your guests will be thrilled! The drink is easily prepared in a blender. Chill the cocktail and strain before serving (the longer you steep the cucumber-mint puree, the more intense the flavor). This aromatic water is a great thirst-quencher and can be used as a base for a cocktail: invite your guests to add vodka or gin to their glass.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 medium cucumbers, chopped
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • A small handful of fresh mint leaves
  • A large pinch of coarse salt
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Gin or vodka, to serve, optional

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine cucumbers, sugar, lemon juice, mint, salt, and 4 cups of cold water in a blender and blend until smooth (there will be some solids remaining). If all the ingredients don't fit in the blender, add only half the water, blend, transfer the puree to a larger container, and add the remaining water. Refrigerate until completely chilled, at least 1 hour.
  2. Before serving, strain the cucumber-mint water through a fine sieve, pressing the mixture with a spoon. Discard any remaining liquid. Serve over ice. Add gin or vodka to taste, if using.
