Kids will find it hard to resist these giant cookies, as if straight out of a fairy tale. They're soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, filled with chocolate chips, and topped with colorful confetti sprinkles. These cookies are easy to make and will make any day, even a weekday, special. Spend a fun family evening baking them with your kids. They'll love helping you measure out the ingredients, mix the dough, and decorate the cookies with sprinkles. Cool the giant cookies completely and slice them into slices, like a pie.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 tbsp. cake flour
  • 0.5 tsp of soda
  • 0.5 tsp fine salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp. semi-sweet chocolate granules
  • 1 tbsp. multi-colored sprinkles

We recommend

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
  2. Microwave the butter in a large bowl on high power until completely melted, about 1 minute. Stir in both sugars, then add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until smooth; let cool for 5 minutes. Stir in the flour mixture with a wooden spoon and knead into a dough. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  3. Place the dough in the center of the prepared baking sheet. Using an offset spatula, spread it into a 20 cm (8 in) circle 1 cm (0.5 in) thick. Sprinkle with colorful sprinkles (it will look like a lot, but the sprinkles will spread throughout the cookies as they bake). Bake, rotating the baking sheet halfway through, until golden brown but still soft in the center, 22-25 minutes (the longer you bake, the crispier they will be). Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then use a large spatula to transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice the cookies into wedges and serve.

    Note

When measuring flour, we spoon it into a measuring cup and remove any excess. If you scoop flour directly from the bag with a measuring cup, you'll compact it, resulting in dry baked goods.

Don't leave your child unsupervised in the kitchen. Limit them to tasks appropriate for their age.
