The Magi Cake, with its purple, green, and gold sprinkles, is a traditional Mardi Gras treat. It inspired the creation of this ice cream, which you can make without even using a special ice cream maker. It's a great way to enjoy all the flavors of this iconic Mardi Gras treat. And, of course, just like the cake, this ice cream contains a hidden surprise: a baby figurine.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place a 22x12.5x7.5 cm metal pan in the freezer.
  2. Preheat oven to 175°C.

  3. Place the buns on a baking sheet and brush the cut sides with butter. Sprinkle 4 halves with 1 tablespoon of purple sugar, 4 halves with 1 tablespoon of golden sugar, and the remaining 4 halves with 1 tablespoon of green sugar. Bake until golden brown around the edges, about 10 minutes. Let cool completely, then cut into 2-cm cubes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine condensed milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.
  5. In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream with a mixer on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, about 2 minutes. Using a rubber spatula, fold about 1 cup of the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture, then fold the lightened mixture into the whipped cream, distributing it evenly. Gently fold in the bread cubes and gummy man.
  6. Spoon the mixture into a chilled loaf pan and sprinkle with the remaining purple, gold, and green sugar. Freeze, covered, until firm, about 5 hours.
