Enjoy the exquisite combination of sweet roasted leeks and creamy smoked Gouda in this crisp puff pastry tart. Using store-bought puff pastry, this recipe is super easy to make. Slice the tart and serve as an appetizer with wine.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 small leeks (white and light green parts only), washed thoroughly, dried and thinly sliced ​​(about 2 1/2 cups)
  • 0.5 cup smoked Gouda, coarsely grated
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (on the finest grater)
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped chives
  • Flour, for dusting

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a 32 x 25 cm rectangle and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Prick the dough with a fork and sprinkle with the leeks and all the cheese. Season with a pinch of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
  2. Bake until the crust is deep golden and the leeks are tender, 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions, cut the tart into 16 or 24 wedges, and serve.
