Bake these holiday cookies with a luxurious combination of chocolate and cherries. Because the dough contains cocoa powder, two types of melted chocolate (unsweetened and semisweet) and chocolate chips, the flavor is especially rich, and dried cherries add just the right amount of fruity tartness.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 cup premium flour
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp fine salt
  • 110 g unsalted butter
  • 100 g unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 100 g semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 package (300 g) of semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1 cup dried cherries

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Position oven racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven and preheat to 325°F (160°C). Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Place the butter, unsweetened chocolate, and semisweet chocolate in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate is melted, 3-4 minutes.

  3. Stir granulated sugar and light brown sugar into the chocolate mixture until fully incorporated, then add milk, vanilla extract, and eggs and beat vigorously with a wooden spoon or spatula until thick and glossy. Add the flour mixture and knead until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips and dried cherries.
  4. Drop 1 heaping tablespoon of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches (5 cm) apart. Bake until the cookies are set around the edges but still soft in the center, 12 to 15 minutes, rotating the baking sheets halfway through. Let cool on the baking sheets on a wire rack for 5 minutes, then transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
