To add some extra flavor to the mixture, Rachel added sweet red peppers to this recipe, along with plenty of seasoning and tomato sauce.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus extra for the pan
- 500-600 g of ground beef
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (add sugar if it doesn't come with the seasoning)
- 2 tsp to 1 tbsp McCormick Brand Steak Seasoning, Montreal Seasoning
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 1 small red bell pepper (chopped)
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 crispy buns, cut in half, toasted and buttered
For garnish:
- Sliced tomatoes, pickles, potato salad

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Pour in the oil and add the ground beef, spreading it around the pan and lightly breaking it up with a spatula. Separately, combine the brown sugar and steak seasoningOnce the meat is browned, add the mixture, onion, and red pepper. Reduce the heat to medium and sauté the onion and pepper for 5 minutes, adding the red wine vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Add the tomato sauce and tomato paste to the pan. Stir thoroughly and simmer the Sloppy Joe mixture for another 5 minutes. Using a large spoon or ice cream scoop, carefully spoon the mixture onto one half of the bun and top with the other half.
- Serve with your favorite side dish or with sliced tomatoes seasoned with salt and pepper, pickles, or herbed potato salad.
