Sloppy Joe (Sloppy Joe)

  • 900 g of ground turkey breast
  • 3 tbsp (45 g) butter
  • Celery salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 can (400 g) of tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup beer or chicken broth
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup moderately hot or very hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 4-5 carrots, 2 peeled and finely chopped, 2-3 cut into strips as a garnish
  • 5-6 celery stalks, 2-3 finely chopped and a few cut into strips for garnish
  • 12 soft hamburger buns

Blue Cheese Ranch Dressing

  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs, such as dill, chives, or parsley
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 large clove of garlic, grated

  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup buttermilk

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. For Sloppy Joe: In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium-high heat. When the butter begins to shimmer, add ground turkeyFry, breaking up into large pieces. Season with celery salt and pepper.

    Add thyme, chopped celery, sliced ​​carrots, and onion. Cook, loosely covered, until softened, 12-15 minutes. Deglaze the pan with beer. Add hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato sauce. Reduce until thick. Cool and store until ready to use. Reheat over medium heat until bubbly.
  2. For filling: In a bowl, combine blue cheese, sour cream, dill and parsley, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Add enough buttermilk to achieve the desired sauce consistency.
