Louisiana can delight you with an incredibly filling burger, featuring a patty fried Cajun-style in a blend of hot spices, topped with melted cheese, sliced ​​ham, and fresh green onions. You won't need to search for burger sauce; just follow the recipe. You'll get a mayonnaise-based sauce that tastes like Thousand Island dressing. That's what the South is all about.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 700 g of ground beef from the shoulder
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp. grain mustard
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce, or more, if desired
  • 5 gherkins, diced
  • 1 green onion (green part only), finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp. sweet paprika
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns, split
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil, plus more for greasing
  • 8 slices of cheese, paper thin
  • 8 thin slices of ham
  • 1 red onion, peeled and cut into 0.7cm thick rings.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Mayonnaise: mix mayonnaise, mustard, hot saucePlace the cucumbers, gherkins, green onions, and parsley in a small bowl, season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a small bowl, combine paprika, pepper, salt, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.

  3. Form the meat into patties. Brush with vegetable oil and season both sides with salt. Sprinkle one side of each patty with the spice mixture, rub the meat with the spices, then drizzle with vegetable oil before grilling.
  4. Preheat grill to high heat.

    Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet set on the grill grate until shimmering.

    If you are using a cast iron skilletPlace the patty in the pan and fry for about 1.5 minutes until lightly charred and a crust of spices has formed (be careful not to burn the spices). Flip the patty, reduce the heat to medium, and continue frying until desired doneness.

    If you are using a grillGrill the patties for about the same amount of time. Top each patty with 2 slices of cheese during the last 30 seconds of cooking, then cook until the cheese melts.
  5. Place the patties on the buns and top with ham, some onions, mayonnaise, and potato chips. Use a skewer to secure the burger.
