Ingredients:

  • 700 g lean ground beef (from brisket)
  • 6 soft hamburger buns, cut into 2 pieces
  • 6 slices American cheese or any processed cheese slices
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp (45 g) butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • Pickled cucumber, cut into slices
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Prepare the filling: Fry the onion in vegetable oil over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer the fried onion to a separate bowl and scrape off any excess fat from the pan.
  • Step 2
  • Prepare cheeseburger patties: Divide the ground beef into 12 portions, shaping each into a 0.5 cm thick circle. Place 1 slice of cheese on each circle, leaving 0.5 cm from the edges. Top with another slice of cheese, then form into a patty. Make 6 patties stuffed with processed cheese. Place the patties in the pan, season with salt and pepper. Fry on one side first, for about 7-8 minutes. Flip, pierce with a toothpick to release steam, and continue frying for another 7 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Prepare cheeseburgers: Place the pickled cucumber slices, patties, and fried onions alternately on the bottom halves of the buns. Top with the top halves of the buns.
  • Step 4
  • Serve the Juicy Lucy cheeseburgers hot.
