This cheese-crusted chicken recipe is very simple and quick to prepare, yet it still looks quite elegant and formal. Make it a favorite for when you have guests or need a quick, filling meal. Although white meat is considered a bit dry, this recipe makes the chicken breasts very juicy and tender thanks to the breading.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, lightly pounded to an even thickness
  • Olive oil or butter for greasing the pan and chicken
  • 1.5 tbsp. breadcrumbs with Italian herbs
  • 1/4 tbsp. grated parmesan
  • 1 tbsp. pesto sauce for pizza
  • 4 pieces of mozzarella, 0.5 cm thick.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 190°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick aluminum foil and grease with oil.
  2. Season each chicken breast with salt and pepper and rub with oil. In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Coat the chicken in the breadcrumbs, shake off any excess, and arrange on the prepared baking sheet.

  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the juices run clear. Turn the chicken pieces over halfway through baking.
  4. Remove the cooked chicken breasts from the oven and turn on the grill function. Spread pizza sauce evenly over each chicken piece and top with a slice of mozzarella. Return the baking sheet to the oven under the grill element and grill until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve.
