This dish requires only four ingredients, but the resulting chicken is so delicious and juicy! The chicken is cut into several pieces, pan-fried until crispy, and then baked in the oven with olive oil, large sprigs of thyme, and 40 cloves of garlic. To peel them quickly, separate the cloves, place them in a jar or saucepan, and shake until the skins come off. Besides imparting a fantastic flavor to the chicken, the roasted garlic is also great spread on bread.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 chicken carcass, cut into 8 pieces
  • 0.5 tbsp. + 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 10 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 40 peeled garlic cloves

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 175°C.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Rub it with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and sear it on both sides in a wide skillet over high heat. Remove from heat, add the olive oil, thyme, and garlic.

  3. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the chicken from the oven, let it rest for 5-10 minutes, slice and serve.
