American coleslaw is made with fresh cabbage and dressed with a zesty blend of mayonnaise, mustard, apple cider vinegar, Sriracha sauce, and a touch of sugar. This dressing infuses the cabbage with a creaminess that blossoms into a riot of vibrant flavors. For a more interesting twist, make the salad tricolor: mix red and white cabbage with orange carrots. Coleslaw is typically served as a side dish with meat or French fries, and is also used in sandwiches and burgers.
