While coleslaw is typically served as a side dish with chicken, pork, or burgers, this version can be enjoyed as a main dish. It already has chicken! Add shredded grilled chicken, grated apple, carrots, and a few raisins for a sweet touch to shredded cabbage, and top with ranch dressing. Perfect for a summer snack.

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 0.5 tbsp. Hidden Valley ranch gas stations
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons celery seeds
  • 1 grilled chicken, skin removed, meat chopped
  • 1 head of red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 2 green apples, grated
  • 0.5 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 cup golden raisins
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a large bowl, stir together vinegar and sugar until completely dissolved.
  • Step 2
  • Add ranch dressing and celery seeds. Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed. Add the chicken, cabbage, carrots, apples, red onion, and raisins. Mix well, then cover and let sit for at least 1 hour before serving.
