A simple way to deliciously cook new potatoes is to slice them into wedges without peeling them and bake them on a baking sheet with spices until golden brown, which is especially delicious if brushed with melted butter. Arrange the slices in a single layer so each one browns evenly on all sides. A few minutes before they're done, stir in some crushed garlic. Sprinkle the baked potatoes with fresh parsley, and a delicious summer side dish is ready!

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 700 g of young red potatoes (medium tubers) with skin, wash with a brush
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt + more to taste
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
  2. Halve the potatoes lengthwise and cut into 2.5 cm (1 in) wide wedges. In a medium bowl, toss the potatoes with melted butter and 1 teaspoon of salt. Arrange the potatoes on a baking sheet large enough to accommodate the wedges in a single layer. Place the potatoes cut-side down to ensure crisp edges.

  3. Bake the potatoes until golden brown, about 45 minutes. Add the garlic and stir to coat evenly. Continue baking until the potatoes and garlic are evenly browned, about 15 more minutes. Watch the garlic carefully to prevent burning. Remove from the oven and toss with the parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve.
