Cheese dip is a hit at any house party. Everyone loves dipping bread into the gooey, melted cheese! Make this dip in a bread bowl, and your guests will be thrilled. The filling is loaded with mozzarella and feta, topped with a fried egg. When the yolk oozes into the cheese dip, it becomes even more delicious. Serve the bread scraps with the dip, and when you're done, tear off the edges of the bread bowl and dip!



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 sourdough loaf, 20 cm in diameter.
  • 2 tbsp. grated mozzarella (about 220 gr.)
  • 1 cup crumbled feta (about 110 g)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.

    Combine the mozzarella, feta, and butter in a large bowl. Trim the top 2 inches off the bread and scoop out the crumb, leaving a hollow shell for dipping. Fill the bread bowl with the cheese mixture. Place in a baking dish, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and crack an egg into the cheese mixture. Bake, uncovered, until the egg whites are almost completely set, 12-15 minutes. Then, turn the oven to broil and broil until completely set, another 1-2 minutes.

  3. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Just before serving, beat the egg yolk with a fork and stir it into the melted cheese.
  4. Serve with bread crumbs or raw vegetables for dipping.
