How to Make Pepperoni Chicken

Time: 16 min.

Make a quick, layered chicken dish, infusing the bland meat with a rich, vibrant flavor. Chicken breasts fry very quickly, so while you're cooking them, it's best to immediately put a pot of water on the stove for pasta as a side dish. Fry thin slices of chicken, then place them in the heated marinara sauce, top with slices of pepperoni and shreds of mozzarella. Cover the chicken, and the cheese will melt, creating a dish reminiscent of tiny meat-based pizzas. Serve with pasta or a vegetable salad.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) butter
  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 3 tbsp. marinara sauce
  • 100 gr. pepperoni slices
  • 240 g mozzarella, diced
  • Chopped fresh parsley for serving
  • Salad or prepared pasta for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Using a sharp knife, cut both chicken breasts in half sideways to create 4 thinner chicken cutlets. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter and olive oil. Cook the chicken until cooked through and crispy, about 2.5 minutes per side. Transfer the chicken to a plate.

  3. Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Add the chicken cutlets to the sauce and top each with a few slices of pepperoni. Top with diced mozzarella, cover, and cook until the cheese is melted, 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley.
  4. Serve immediately with a side of salad or pasta and drizzle with marinara sauce.
