Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C. Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Roll the pizza dough into a flat rectangle measuring 35 x 25 cm, with the long side facing you. Cut into 32 rectangles, making 8 vertical strips, then cut each strip 3 times horizontally.

  3. Spoon 1 teaspoon of pizza sauce into the center of each rectangle, then top with a slice of mozzarella. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and top with a slice of pepperoni. Place a sausage across the short end (so it sticks out). Roll each rectangle up, pressing the seam. Place on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
  4. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water and brush over the surface of the dough.
  5. Mix Parmesan cheese with Italian seasoning and sprinkle over the dough. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve the sausage rolls with the remaining pizza sauce.

    Note

Pepperoni is a sausage similar to salami. Sliced pepperoni is added to pizza or made into sandwiches. The sausage is seasoned with a blend of spices including paprika, garlic, black pepper, ground red pepper, and hot pepper.
