Chow mein is a Chinese dish that has spread far beyond China's borders and, thanks to immigrants, has become popular around the world. It's a stir-fry of vegetables with noodles in Asian spices. Prepare chow mein noodles with cabbage, carrots, and onions by quickly stirring them in a pan with peanut and sesame oil, soy sauce, and broth. This is the most affordable version of the dish, using vegetables you always have on hand. Cut them into thin, long strips, so they're roughly the same shape as the noodles. This makes the dish more appealing and easier to eat with chopsticks.
