Sweet potatoes are cut into small cubes and baked in the oven with chili powder until golden and crispy. The chili powder's savory, spicy flavor complements the sweet potato's contrasting sweetness. Serve as a side dish with meat or as an appetizer, dipping it in a unique sauce made from sunflower paste (similar to peanut butter) blended with plenty of cilantro, lime juice, and salt.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 700 g sweet potato
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2/3 cup cilantro
  • 3 tablespoons sunflower seed paste

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine 1 lb (0.7 kg) sweet potatoes (cut into 2.5 cm cubes) with 2 tbsp olive oil, adding 1 tsp of each. chili powder and coarse salt, as well as a pinch of ground black pepper. Place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 230°C (450°F), stirring halfway through, until crisp, 35-45 minutes.
  2. In a blender, combine 1/4 cup warm water with 1 crushed garlic clove, the juice of 1 lime, 2/3 cup cilantro, 3 tablespoons sunflower paste, and 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt. Serve with potatoes.
