Go back Print version

Time: 30 min.

Transform ordinary pecans into a delicious snack that can be served with drinks at parties or taken on the go. All the spices are perfectly balanced for superior flavor. There's spicy chili, sweet cinnamon, and a few other additions that deliver a burst of flavor. To ensure the spices adhere tightly to the nuts and create a glaze, they're mixed with melted brown sugar. Bake in the oven to set the glaze, and enjoy.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (160°C) and lightly spray a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of salt, chili powder, cumin, allspice, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and paprika. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sugar and soy sauce and stir until the sugar melts, then add the spices.

  3. Add the pecans and toss to coat completely with the herb oil. Cook, stirring, until the oil is absorbed, 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake until golden brown and caramelized, 12-15 minutes. Let cool slightly on the baking sheet, season with a little salt, and serve warm.
