With this recipe, you don't have to worry about your healthy, lean turkey patties turning out dry. Just add some grated zucchini to the ground meat! It adds juiciness without overpowering the flavor of the other ingredients. Make Tex-Mex-style burgers with these turkey patties, topped with melty cheese and salsa.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 medium zucchini
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 450 g of ground turkey (6% fat)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp. l. rapeseed oil (canola)
  • 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 burger buns, cut in half and toasted
  • 1 cup salsa with vegetable pieces

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place a grater on two layers of paper towels. Grate the zucchini using the coarse side of a grater. Wrap in the paper towels and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Transfer to a large bowl and mix with the green onions, ground turkey, egg, chili powder, and salt until smooth. Form into 4 patties the same diameter as your buns.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on the bottom, about 7 minutes. Carefully flip and cook until cooked through, about 8 minutes. Top each patty with a slice of cheese, then slide them onto the bottom halves of the buns. Top with salsa and cover with the top halves of the buns.
