Homemade oat milk is inexpensive and very easy to prepare. It foams well and has a pleasant flavor, making it a great lactose-free alternative to regular milk in your morning coffee. Even better, oat milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, and leftover oat pulp can be added to nutritious smoothies.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place the rolled oats in a medium bowl, cover them with enough water. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight to soften.
  2. Drain and rinse the oats thoroughly. Pour 3 cups of fresh water into a blender. Blend on high until the oats are completely powdered, 2-3 minutes. Strain the oat milk through a sieve or cheesecloth into a container. Set the oat pulp aside for smoothies or baking. Stir in maple syrup, vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Store oat milk in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days..
