This simple dessert is easy to make with cookies, lime, and condensed milk, but it looks absolutely luxurious in a clear glass bowl. It tastes as beautiful as it looks: the cookies are soaked in the condensed milk, becoming soft and pairing perfectly with the delicate cream. And the lime adds a refreshing citrusy tartness to the sweet trifle.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 can (400 g) of condensed milk with sugar
  • 1 can (340 g) of unsweetened condensed milk
  • Juice of 3 limes
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 1 package Maria crackers (150 g) or 1 package Graham crackers (120 g)
  • 1 lime, for garnish, optional

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Combine all the condensed milk and lime juice in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Spoon 1 cup lime curd into the bottom of a 6-cup glass trifle dish. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the lime zest. Then arrange 1/3 of the graham crackers on top of the curd, breaking them up as needed to create a single layer.

  3. Make two more layers, finishing with a layer of cream and sprinkling with lime zest. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours or overnight.
  4. Before serving, thinly slice one lime and garnish the dessert with the wedges.
