To make this refreshing lemonade, the juicy flesh of a ripe, seedless watermelon is blended and combined with simple syrup, freshly squeezed lime juice, and sparkling water. All ingredients should be well chilled so the lemonade can be served immediately. Instead of regular ice cubes, add frozen watermelon cubes to each glass. It makes a delicious and healthy homemade lemonade.

Recipe:


Freeze 2 cups of diced watermelon pulp. Meanwhile, combine 3/4 cup each of sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Pour the syrup into a pitcher and refrigerate. Blend another 4 cups of diced watermelon pulp in a blender and strain into a pitcher. Stir in 1 cup of lime juice (about 9 limes) and 2 cups of cold sparkling water. Add the frozen watermelon and a few lime slices.
