Healthy homemade lemonade is great not only in summer but also in winter, especially if you want to offer guests a unique drink. Prepare this lemonade, flavored with cinnamon, ginger, and anise, for the winter holidays. You can make the spiced syrup ahead of time for a quick batch of lemonade anytime.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups of sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 star anise
  • 8 cm fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 6 cups chilled seltzer water
  • 1.5 cups lemon juice (6–8 lemons)
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine sugar, cinnamon sticks, anise, ginger, and 1.5 cups of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, and let cool to room temperature. Strain.
  • Step 2
  • Combine the strained syrup, cold seltzer water, and lemon juice in a large pitcher. Stir and pour into glasses filled with ice.
