Basil Lemonade

What could be more refreshing on a hot day than an invigorating lemonade? Basil lemonade! This fragrant herb pairs beautifully with citrus flavor, elevating it to a whole new level. Make this drink if you want to impress your guests with an original flavor combination. The base of the lemonade is a lemon-basil syrup, which can be made ahead of time and topped with soda in each glass.


Ingredients:

  • 1 can (340 g) frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • 0.5 cups of water
  • 12 torn basil leaves
  • 1 cup of sparkling water
  • 2-4 tbsp flavored syrup (apple or pineapple)
  • Lemon slices, for garnish
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine the pink lemonade concentrate with 1/2 cup water and 12 basil leaves in a medium saucepan; simmer over medium heat until syrupy, about 10 minutes. Add 8 more torn basil leaves, let cool, then strain. Top with sparkling water.
  • Step 2
  • For portioned drinks, mix 2-4 tablespoons of syrup with 1 glass of cold sparkling water in each glass with ice.
