Beans are the perfect alternative to meat when it comes to veggie burgers. Mash canned black beans with oatmeal, corn, egg, and taco seasoning, form into patties, and fry in a hot skillet. Quick and easy! To prevent the patties from falling apart during frying, be sure to refrigerate them first.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 can (425 g) canned black beans, rinsed
  • 1 sachet (30 g) taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup frozen corn, do not defrost
  • 1 packet instant oatmeal, unflavored
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 4 multigrain buns, toasted
  • 4 teaspoons mayonnaise
  • Shredded lettuce

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Mash the beans in a large bowl or plastic bag, reserving some chunks. Add taco seasoning and salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the corn, oats, and egg. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to rehydrate the oats.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil begins to shimmer, scoop out a quarter of the bean mixture and spoon it into the skillet, spreading it slightly into a circle.

  3. Cook on one side until golden brown, about 8 minutes; flip and cook on the other side for another 8 minutes. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, patties, and salsa, and cover with the bun tops.
