Homemade Thousand Island dressing is much more delicious than store-bought, especially if it's made with homemade mayonnaise (or use the highest-quality store-bought mayonnaise). All the ingredients are perfectly balanced for a rich, multifaceted flavor. Use it as a salad dressing or as a dip for various appetizers.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • Half a clove of garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp coarse salt + more to taste
  • 3/4 cup store-bought or homemade mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce (about 60 g)
  • 2 tbsp. ketchup
  • 1.5 tbsp. chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons of baked cucumber caviar
  • Half a large hard-boiled egg, rub through a sieve or chop finely

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Make a paste by crushing the garlic and 1/4 teaspoon of salt with the blade of a chef's knife.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the garlic, mayonnaise, chili sauce, ketchup, onion, vegetable caviar, and egg until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Use immediately or store the sauce, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 2 days..
