Make bacon the star of pasta dishes, salads, or use it as a filling in pies or even candies with this collection of bacon recipes.

1. Guacamole with baconCombine 2 avocados with 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes and 1/2 cup cilantro, 1/4 cup each chopped onion and finely chopped cooked bacon, 1/2 a jalapeño, a squeeze of lime juice and salt.
2. Cheese popcorn with baconDrizzle 4 cups of cooked popcorn with 1 tablespoon of bacon grease. Toss with 3 tablespoons of chopped crispy bacon and 1/4 cup each of grated Parmesan and Cheddar.
3. Warm salad with bacon. Fry 6 slices bacon in 1 tablespoon olive oil; drain on paper towels and chop. Add 1/2 sliced red onion, 1/4 cup each apple cider vinegar and water, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon celery seed. Toss with 6 tablespoons coleslaw, sprinkle with bacon.

5. Reuben sandwich with Canadian bacon. Spread Light Thousand Island Dressing on rye toast. Top with sauerkraut (No. 4) and Swiss cheese. Grill until melted.
6. Apple sandwichesSpread on baguette honey mustardTop with fried bacon, sliced Brie and apple, torn lettuce leaves, and season with salt and pepper.
7. Club sandwichSpread 3 slices of toast with soft blue cheese and mayonnaise. Layer with grilled chicken, cooked bacon, avocado, tomato, romaine lettuce, and a hard-boiled egg to make a double-decker sandwich.

9. Peanut butter and banana sandwich with fried baconMake a sandwich with white bread in a frying pan.

22. MusselsIn a heavy-bottomed saucepan, fry 115 g (4 oz) of bacon (flaky pork belly) with 1 onion and add whole-grain mustard. Add 3/4 cup of beer, thyme sprigs, and 1 kg (12 oz) of mussels. Cover and simmer until the shells open, 5 minutes. Sprinkle with 2 tbsp of parsley.

Roll into small balls. Fry in a skillet with olive oil until golden brown, then simmer in tomato sauce until tender.
27. Ribeye steak wrapped in baconYou'll need a 700g piece of pork. Season with garlic, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Wrap in bacon. Brown on all sides in an ovenproof skillet, then place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 200°C (400°F) until the meat reaches 50°C (122°F) on a candy thermometer.
